Philosophy:
Richard Meier believed that nature should be a part of a building. Where he designed the Smith house with nature like, large windows open spaces. For this project, I decided to build on a number of Richard Meier's systems including his separation of public and private spaces, enclosure, circulation, additive/subtractive process, and hierarchy. My idea on this project was to join a circular extension to Meyer’s square existing structure. I connected these two separate structures with a Colum “joint connection ". These joint connect to Meyers building in a grid like manor and extend into my extension.
